Thomasboro Grade School is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented person to join our team. If you have a passion for education and enjoy supporting school operations, this role is perfect for you!

• Finance Manager/Human Resources Manager/Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent
• Full-Time
Minimum Qualifications
• Associate Degree in accounting, business or related field.
• Successful previous accounting experience utilizing the skills required of this position
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or a field related to the position.
• Successful previous accounting experience utilizing the skills required of this position.
• Familiarity with the operation of a computer system and the input of data into said system.
• Familiarity with the investment of school district funds.
• Ability to secure “bonding”.
• Ability to make daily decisions regarding financial matters and recommend district budget planning scenarios to the superintendent.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate acceptable.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Post receipts and expenditures to proper accounts
• Maintain checking accounts, reconciles accounts with bank statements, and submits documentation for reimbursement.
• Maintain and reconcile other fund accounts; record cash received and issues receipts; maintain petty cash account
• Prepare annual budget and submit to ISBE. Prepare and mail tax levy certification
• Prepare and distribute all payroll related checks and reports, including but not limited to, tax forms, insurances, union dues, unemployment, 403B, AFLAC, etc.
• Maintain assigned district grants, reconcile and claim monies
• Compiles financial information related to school site (e.g. accounts payable/receivables, collecting, verifying, depositing all monies collected, write receipts, payroll, expenditure reports) for the purposes of providing required documents and/or processing information.
• Prepare all ISBE forms and reports (Expenditure Reports, Health, Discipline, etc) assigned and by deadlines.
• Process financial information (e.g. all POs, accounts payable, payments for officials, etc.) for the purpose of updating and distributing information, authorizing for action and/or compiling with established accounting procedures. Maintain PO records; communicate with vendors concerning PO, receives supplies and verifies against PO, process invoices for payment.
• Assist administration with personnel issues, FMLA, etc.
• Coordinate district health insurance
• Ensure that accounting procedures as established by the district are followed.
• Maintain assigned school personnel records: sick, vacation and personnel time off records.

Friday, August 30th is our first attendance incentive! Students will participate in a series of water events. Students are encouraged to wear clothes that can get wet, no swimsuits, and bring a towel. We also have 11:30 dismissal that day. Also, we do not have school on Monday, September 2nd in honor of Labor Day.

Join us for a Town Hall Meeting regarding the Referendum! We will host 3 meetings to give information regarding our request for an increase in the limiting rate. The meetings will be held in the gym at 6:30 p.m. on August 27th, September 19th, and October 24th.
Reminder: Thomasboro Grade School is putting on a series of workshops for parents that are currently looking for a job! After a thorough investigation, the fire department determined that there was not a fire and declared the building safe for reentry. Thank you Peace Lutheran Church for allowing our students and staff to sit in the church during the rain while the fire department assessed the school. We are all back inside and resuming our day.
